I hope this note finds you all healthy and well. We are certainly eager to have you all on campus and begin with summer athletics. Many of you are anxious to start, and I wanted you to know that we are too! At this time, I wanted to give you what information I can so that you can be better prepared, assist in planning, and ready to go when you are given the chance.
These are the things that you should be currently working on:
Medical clearance to participate in athletics at Damien
- All incoming students must be medically cleared to participate at Damien. You need to have a physical completed on file to participate in athletics. I am aware that some doctors still are not seeing patients, don’t panic, do your best. If your son has had a physical within the last 12 months, we will honor it up until 365 days have passed since the date of the physical. It is our suggestion to try and get this done now if possible. We are in the planning stages of holding a physical clearance event on campus when we are able. So, if it is not possible to see your doctor it is likely you can utilize this to meet the requirement. Please take the physical form to be completed with you. It can be printed HERE.
- Complete the online athletic clearance forms. This can be found HERE. Please register an account if you are a new family or login to your existing account if you are a returning family. Please click HERE to view some FAQ’s to answer any questions you may have about this process.
Regarding “Dead Period”
Our school wide athletic “dead period” will be taken from June 6 – June 21. There will be no summer athletic activities during this time. The earliest ANY summer program will begin is June 22. We will also be bound by the latest health and safety guidelines as to what we are allowed to do in the months ahead. At this time, we still anticipate having summer programs, but unfortunately, we cannot say that for certain at this time. As more details are available, we will certainly relay those to you.
Summer Program Registration
We will be taking summer sign-ups, registrations, and collecting summer fees just as soon as it is clear we will be able to have summer activities. In the meantime, no worries, you haven’t missed anything!
Stay safe, enjoy each other, and to our newest members of the Class of 2024, welcome!
